DIVERSITY STATEMENT

The work I do is interdisciplinary and intersectional by nature, and this naturally informs both the courses I design and my approach to my own team.

Fostering diversity is crucial for any organization that wishes to integrate innovative learning with professional excellence.

One accomplishment of which I am very proud is one of my first: developing a Safe Zones program that provides support for LGBTQ members of an organization. My collaborator and I found very little material that addressed the organization’s distinctive needs, so we created materials and designed the training from scratch. The initiative grew from a couple of events a year to an enterprise-wide effort led by its own steering committee that draws together leaders from all divisions of the organization.
